Factory Mopar Spark Plugs
Spark plugs are one of the most important engine parts. They provide the spark needed to ignite the fuel and air mixture inside the cylinders. Spark plugs are located at the top of each cylinder and are responsible for initiating the combustion process.
So, what do the spark plugs do? The basic function of a spark plug is to create an electrical spark that ignites the fuel and air mixture inside the engine cylinder. The spark plug consists of two main parts: the center electrode and the ground electrode. When the engine's ignition system sends an electrical charge to the spark plug, the charge jumps the gap between the center and ground electrodes, creating the spark that ignites the fuel and air mixture.
If the spark plug is dirty or worn, it may not produce the necessary spark to ignite the fuel and air mixture, resulting in reduced engine performance, decreased fuel efficiency, and potentially damaging the engine over time.
Manufacturers typically recommend replacing the spark plugs about every 30,000 to 100,000 miles, depending on the vehicle's make and model and driving conditions. Regular inspection and replacement of the spark plugs can help maintain the engine's optimal performance, improve fuel efficiency, and reduce the risk of engine damage.
